"Education is learning what you didn't even know you didn't know." Daniel J. Boorstin

The Learning Resource Centre is more than just books. It is an oasis of calm in the hectic timetable of a normal college day. Students can come into the LRC to read quietly, complete homework, research topics, play chess or just sit quietly and chill before moving on to the next lesson.

The LRC offers the use of computers, printing, book loans, DVD loans and there is always somebody on hand to help with technical problems, advice and help with homework and suggestions for good reads. The college library catalogue is accessible from home and parents/carers can see what books we have on offer for the students to read. The website also shows a news sections and book reviews written by our students.

We hold many events over the college year including several chess tournaments, quizzes and competitions, World Book Day, The Write Path, shadowing The Lancashire Book Of The Year Award, book clubs, numerous visiting authors/poets, the Big Read, murder in the LRC and FilmClub to name but a few.
