Counselling
Counselling is available to all students. Parent and self-referrals from students are also accepted. On occasion, to cope with demand, we source additional counselling capacity from external providers.
Counselling is a confidential service that means that details of work carried out with students are not shared with anyone including parents and the referrer. However safeguarding concerns will be shared with the Safeguarding Team in line with College policy.
Counselling offers support for a wide variety of issues including but not limited to, eating issues, low mood, self-harm, bullying, exam pressures, low self –esteem, sexual identity, bereavement and many others. The counsellor does not offer advice or tell a student what to do, the purpose of counselling is to empower the individual to make changes and decisions on their own. Students are not forced to attend counselling, it is their choice to engage or not.
